My Work

Sequoyah

Sequoyah was a revolutionary educator whose contributions to creating the Cherokee syllabary made an incalculable impact on his people as well as other Native American tribes.

I have included this report on Sequoyah because his work is an example of how educational innovations can truly have an important social and cultural impact on its learners and society itself.  This presentation was from a team project from an Adult Education course from the Adult Education and Training master's program at Colorado State University.

Storytelling

Storytelling is a powerful learning method because it provides a connection to the learner through emotion, experience, and imagination.

Like many of you, I personally connect with a good story and I have found over the years that it is a very useful way for me to learn, which is why I am including this presentation in my portfolio.  This presentation was from team project from a Processes and Methods course from the Adult Education and Training master's program at Colorado State University.

Theory to Practice

The purpose of this paper is to propose the design of a new educational program based on adult learning theories. The topic of this program is An Overview of Dutch Colonial History and its Impact on Dutch Society Today.

I have included this project in my portfolio because this work represents my ability to identify the tenets of existing learning theories and apply these principles to the design of a brand new program.

The subject matter is important to me because I am a temporary resident of the Netherlands and I believe that providing a program that helps explain cultural context to new residents can be useful for their adjustment to living in this country.
